The Hon. Barry Kamins (Ret.) (who literally wrote the book on “New York Search & Seizure”) returns to the NY Criminal Bar Association to present his renowned program on Fourth Amendment litigation for all interested criminal practitioners. No serious defense counsel can afford to miss this great opportunity to get “up to speed” on all the latest developments in search and seizure law from such an erudite and engaging speaker. Judge Kamins is kind enough to offer his superb presentations for NYCBA, continuing this wonderful tradition that began in 2019. The program is being offered virtually, over Zoom.

Judge Kamins, a partner at Aidala Bertuna & Kamins, PC, will discuss recent Supreme Court and New York State decisions on Probable Cause, Standing, People v. DeBour, Arrests, Search Warrants, Exceptions to the Warrant Requirement, Automobile Stops and Searches, Motions to Suppress and Suppression Hearings.

An application for two (2) hours of New York State Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Credit in Areas of Professional Practice is pending with the New York State CLE Board. This program is open to experienced and newly admitted attorneys.

The program is offered for FREE to all current 2024 NYCBA members and institutional defenders, and unemployed attorneys. Assigned counsel (NYC Assigned Counsel Plan [“18-B” Panel] or federal CJA Panel members may pay a discounted rate of $19.99.

If you are NOT a NYCBA member, institutional defender, unemployed attorney, or assigned counsel, you must either to join the NYCBA (and receive this and every 2024-2025 CLE for free) or pay the nominal $29.99 program fee.
